Principal Message

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We warmly welcome you and your child to our school website. We hope that it reflects the happy, secure, and enriching environment that we strive to provide for all our pupils. It is the greatest privilege we can receive to be entrusted with your child’s education during these important early years.

Your support and co-operation are essential in helping us create a school where your child will find happiness, friendship, and the encouragement to develop their individual gifts. We place great value on building a strong sense of community and partnership, so that every child and family feels a genuine sense of belonging. Central to this is the promotion of pupil wellbeing — we are deeply committed to creating a safe, nurturing environment where every child feels respected, supported, and confident to be themselves.

As your child’s first and most important educator, we look forward to working closely with you to provide the best possible education and learning experience.

We are fortunate to have a dedicated and supportive Board of Management and an active Parents’ Association, both of whom contribute significantly to the life of our school. Our committed staff work tirelessly to help each child reach their full potential, and are continually engaged in professional development to ensure the highest possible standards of teaching and learning.

As a Digital School, we embrace the use of technology across the curriculum. Each classroom is equipped with interactive teaching and learning devices, and a suite of iPads is available to support innovative, engaging, and balanced learning experiences.

We are especially proud of our strong focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) education. Our school has been the proud recipient of several Curious Minds Awards, recognising our commitment to fostering curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking skills in our pupils. These achievements reflect our dedication to preparing students for a future shaped by innovation and discovery.

At Holy Cross Mercy School, we focus on building upon each child’s strengths to support their confidence and self-esteem. Rooted in our Catholic ethos, we place great importance on the holistic development of every pupil - academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. We celebrate achievements across all areas, including our wide range of extra-curricular activities.

We are truly honoured that you have chosen or may be considering entrusting your child’s education and care to us here at Holy Cross Mercy School.   We would be delighted to welcome families who may be considering enrolling your child in our School.  Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like further information or to arrange a visit.

Thank you for your continued interest, support, and partnership.

With kind regards,

Alice Davern
