We’re thrilled to share some exciting news! Our 5th Class pupils have been chosen to take part in a fantastic Print Workshop Project, where they will have the opportunity to explore the world of printmaking with local artist and designer Darragh Kinch.
Funded by Creative Ireland and supported by the Kerry County Council Arts Office, this creative programme is being delivered in selected schools across the Mid-Kerry region.
Our 5th Class pupils are already very excited to get started! Over the course of the project, they will explore three different printmaking techniques: lino printing, monoprinting and scribe printing.
Through these hands-on workshops, the children will discover how simple ideas and designs can be transformed into unique works of art. They will have lots of opportunities to experiment with line, texture, shape and pattern, while developing their own creative ideas and designs.
Working alongside a professional local artist will also give the pupils a chance to see what happens behind the scenes in the creative process and to discover the many possibilities that art and design can offer.
We are looking forward to seeing their creativity, imagination and individuality shine through as they create their own prints.
A huge thank you to Creative Ireland, Kerry County Council Arts Office and Darragh Kinch for providing our pupils with this fantastic opportunity.
We can't wait to see what our budding young printmakers create! Watch this space for some of their wonderful artwork. 🎨
